Privacy Policy
This policy explains what DocketWatch LLC (“DocketWatch”, “we”) collects when you use getdocketwatch.com, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. In short: we keep what we need to run your watchlist and your subscription, we don’t track you, and we don’t sell data.
What we store
- Your account email address, used to sign you in and to send your alert emails.
- Sign-in links. We store only a one-way hash of each link, with the address it was sent to and when. A link works once and expires after 15 minutes.
- Your watchlist: the docket numbers you add and the date you added each one.
- Alert history: which daily summaries we sent you and which changes they contained.
- Billing references: your Stripe customer and subscription IDs, the price you’re on, your plan’s carrier limit and the subscription status. We never see or store card numbers; you enter payment details on Stripe’s own checkout page.
- Server logs kept by our hosting provider, such as IP address, time and the page requested, used to keep the service running and secure. Sign-in links are removed from these logs.
Cookies
We set one cookie, dw_session, when you sign in. It holds a signed reference to your account, lasts up to 30 days, and is marked HttpOnly, Secure and SameSite=Lax. Logging out deletes it. We use no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies, and the site loads no third-party scripts, fonts or images. The only other company your browser talks to is Stripe, when you go to checkout or the billing portal.
Carrier data
The carrier information we show and email comes from FMCSA’s public datasets. Those records can include contact details of carriers and the people who run them. We show only that contact details changed, never the details themselves, and we never show the free-text reason FMCSA records for a change, only its category.
Who processes data for us
- Stripe handles checkout, payments, invoices and the billing portal. Stripe’s own privacy policy applies to the payment details you give it.
- Resend delivers our emails: sign-in links and your daily alert summary.
- Railway hosts the application and its database.
Each receives only what it needs for that job. We don’t sell or rent personal data, and we don’t share it for advertising.
If we emailed you about DocketWatch
We sometimes email freight brokers about DocketWatch from docketwatchhq.com, using business contact details published on the company’s own public website. Every one of those emails has a one-click unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing, or replying to ask us to stop, adds your address to a do-not-contact list that we check before every send, and we keep that list so we don’t contact you again.
How long we keep it
We keep your account, watchlist and alert history while you have an account, including after a subscription ends, so you can pick up where you left off. Email support@getdocketwatch.com from your account address and we’ll delete your account, watchlist and alert history. Stripe keeps its own billing records as the law requires.
Your choices
You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or stop using the service at any time. Email us from your account address and we’ll respond.
Security
Connections to the site are encrypted, there are no passwords to leak, sign-in links are stored only as hashes, and access to production data is limited to the people who run DocketWatch.
Children
DocketWatch is a business service and isn’t meant for anyone under 18.
Changes
If we change this policy we’ll update the effective date above, and email subscribers about material changes.
